Credentials and Professional Experience

Alice Geier is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia. She has been working in the field of Mental Health for over 9 years. She received her Bachelor of Psychology as well as a Master of Science in Community Counseling from the University of North Georgia.

Alice has experience working with children and adults of all ages. She has worked in a variety of therapeutic venues, including county mental health, Mental Health Court in multiple counties, couples and family therapy in private practice and children and adolescents in community-based services. Additionally, Alice’s professional experience includes working with individuals with mood disorders, anxiety disorder, psychotic disorders, addictive diseases and adjustment disorders.

Alice uses a variety of techniques to assist individuals and families to reach personal and familial goals and overcome setbacks. She has worked with many teenagers and their families to promote good communication and establish appropriate roles and boundaries within the family system. With adults, she prioritizes the individual’s needs and capabilities to guide the therapeutic process. With young adults, she emphasizes the importance of self-actualization and confidence, as well as appropriate relationship boundaries. Alice uses a holistic approach to therapy with teenagers and adults, encouraging clients to include all aspects of life within the therapeutic process.
