Credentials and Professional Experience
Andrea Brock is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked with
adolescents and adults for 7 years in a variety of settings including
group homes, homeless shelters, mental health and substance abuse crisis
centers, intensive care units, and community clinics. Andrea earned a
Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a concentration in Sex and Gender
studies from the Georgia State University and was an honors student
receiving her Master’s degree in Social Work from Georgia State
University in 2012.
Andrea’s approach to therapy is eclectic, empathetic, and active. She believes that clients are the experts on themselves and their own lives and strives to understand their concerns within the context of their experiences. She helps clients connect the dots of cause and effect to
help identify opportunities for growth and change in line with the client’s goals. Andrea is a certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and also has experience as an anger management specialist and a therapeutic horseback riding instructor.
Andrea has worked with youth and adolescents as both a therapist and a youth pastor and is passionate about the unique needs of teens and young adults, particularly those in the LGBTQ community. She recognizes the need for individuals to be able to express themselves fully to live authentic, healthy lives.
Andrea has also worked with adults of all ages and knows that small habits often add up over time and cause distress or frustration. By focusing on the link between thoughts and behavior, she can help identify overlooked and ingrained patterns and assist in replacing them
with intentional choices to help individuals reach a place of peace and joy.
