Credentials and Professional Experience

Dana E. Tatum Ph.D., MA, LPC, CCHP has been in practice for over 22 years. Dana graduated with a BA from Hampton University and earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology with a Specialty in Counseling from The Georgia School of Professional Psychology as well as a Ph.D and Post-Graduate Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies with a concentration in Health Psychology. Dana has dedicated his career to providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults of all ages.

This has included work with persons suffering from Depression, Anxiety, Addiction as well as empowering patients to break the cycles of maladaptive, toxic relationships. He has also spent the past 20 years as a therapist, and trainer of counselors in the area of forensic mental health. After completing training in Behavioral Analysis, Crisis Intervention and Hostage Negotiation through the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1999, Dana has provided forensic psychological consultation and training to law enforcement throughout the United States. He has worked relentlessly to reduce the stigma of mental illness in hopes that sans the ever-present stigma more people in our communities will seek the help they need for health and happiness.

With this in mind the most effective modality for positive change and growth will be an approach that is developed with respect and attention to your goals, needs and the current dynamics of your day to day living. While Dana is highly experienced in Cognitive Behavioral therapeutic techniques, listening intently to your specific individual history and experiences will determine what path to wellness will be most effective for you.
