Credentials and Professional Experience
Jessica Brown is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. She also holds certifications as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and as an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC). Jessica earned her Bachelors of Arts in Criminal Justice at Fairleigh Dickinson University and her Master of Arts in Counseling Services with a specialty in School Counseling. She has worked in a multitude of settings such as: Residential program (13-18 year olds), Substance Abuse programs, Metro Atlanta Inpatient hospital, Community Mental Health and Managed Care. She worked primarily with individuals struggling with Substance Use as well as dual diagnosis individuals for the last 7 years and weekly ran a group regarding Codependency issues. Jessica has experience in working with children, adolescents and adults providing individual, group and family counseling.
Jessica’s counseling approach is based on creating a connection with the individual. She works from a multitude of theoretical frameworks including person-centered, cognitive behavioral, family systems, and solution focused. Much of her experience has been helping individuals and families find balance in their lives and re-focus on values important to them. Jessica’s goal is to listen to her clients, accepting them for who they are, and joining them on their journeys for a better tomorrow.
