Credentials and Professional Experience
Rebecca Scott is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Georgia, and holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology with a Specialty in Counseling from Argosy University Atlanta Campus, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia. Her extensive counseling experience began in 1997, and has included working with individuals and families within out-patient and in-patient settings, group homes, within substance abuse facilities, within the correctional system of Georgia for female offenders, and within private practice. Rebecca has experience facilitating psycho-educational groups, process groups, substance abuse groups, and women’s support groups.
Rebecca has worked with a variety of clients including children, adolescents, adults, and couples. She utilizes a variety of techniques/interventions from various counseling theories to assist individuals in achieving their personal goals for therapy. Rebecca believes in creating a therapeutic environment that is nonjudgmental, fosters empathy and trust, so that change can take place (Person-Centered Therapy). Additionally, Rebecca does place a focus on helping clients identify how their own thoughts and feelings contribute to some of the behavioral changes they want to make (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). She sees clients 12 and up for individual and marital/couples counseling.
